What is Sesmedia?

Sesmedia turns ideas into lasting ventures, built from Deaf culture outward.

We help great ideas become something built to last by building the identity, systems, and infrastructure behind them.

So every new venture builds on what came before, instead of starting from scratch.

Built for what?
Media

Films, shows, and studio work where sign language is the first language on set, not a caption added afterward.

Entertainment

Live shows, original productions, and performances created in sign language, where the performance communicates on sight.

Commerce

Live shopping hosted in sign language, where the audience claims what they want right in the chat.

Accessibility

Interpreting and access run by Deaf and CODA teams, built into the work from the start, not added at the end.

Festivals & Community

Festivals and gatherings where Deaf culture sets the room, and everyone who signs is already on the inside.

Why?

Deaf culture leads. Belonging is built in, not an afterthought.

We do not add accessibility to a finished product. We start there.

Every system we build starts from Deaf experience and is designed from Deaf culture outward, so everyone can take part. Accessibility is not a feature. It is the architecture.

You can see it throughout our work:

  • Our live shows are performed in sign language, with voice interpreters welcoming people who do not sign into a Deaf space.
  • Our comedy is written to work visually first, so the performance communicates on sight.
  • Our broadcasts are designed so the experience makes sense even with the sound turned off.
  • Our festival begins with Deaf culture as the foundation, not accessibility as an afterthought.
How?

One company. Many ventures. Shared infrastructure.

What’s next?

The next generation shouldn’t have to build this again.

Twenty years of production, accessibility, commerce, and community become the foundation the next idea stands on.

Company

One infrastructure. Many ventures.

Sesmedia is the shared infrastructure built from Deaf culture outward, so creators, businesses, and communities can focus on what they do best.

Why Sesmedia

Sesmedia is not a media company. It is infrastructure.

Under Sesmedia sits a family of Deaf-led ventures: a production studio, a live-shopping show, an interpreting service, a festival, and more. From the outside, they look like separate businesses. For a long time, we thought they were too.

But each one was solving the same problem from a different angle. The problem was never media, or retail, or a show. It was that Deaf people keep having to build their own way in, one organization at a time. Sesmedia is the shared infrastructure underneath them all, so the next idea does not start from nothing.

Who we are

A Deaf-led company, built in Las Vegas.

Sesmedia is not a single product or a single show. It is the connective tissue underneath many: the studios, the storefronts, the stages, and the services that Deaf creators and businesses rely on.

Everything we make is designed from Deaf culture outward, so it is native to the people it serves and understood by everyone else.

How we’re built

Divisions, companies, and partners.

Our divisions are run inside Sesmedia. Our companies are ventures we own and operate. Our partners are independent, Deaf-led organizations we power and stand beside.

Deaf founder and host. Builds the shows, the systems, and the standard the rest of the family is measured against.

History
2006The work begins. Pah! Productions is born, the first of many Deaf-led ventures and the name the rest are held to. Today it is Pah! Studios.
The years afterA family grows: studios, live commerce, a festival, and access services, each built Deaf-first.
TodaySesmedia unites twenty years of that work under one roof, from Las Vegas, Nevada, one foundation beneath many brands.
How it grew

One name, divided.

Sesmedia Media Services and Pah! Studios were one name once: Pah! Studios Multimedia Services, a single studio that both made the work and served the client. As each side matured, the name divided in two. The services half rose to become Sesmedia Media Services. The studio half stayed as Pah! Studios. Nothing was replaced. It branched.

So Media Services is not a new division. It is the living continuation of the client-services practice that began as Pah! in 2006. The structure was not invented. It grew.

Impact

Access designed in, not added on.

Most of the world treats Deaf access as an afterthought. Sesmedia starts there. This is what that changes.

Where we focus
Access

ASL and Deaf-first design built into every product from the first line, not bolted on at the end.

Representation

Deaf hosts, Deaf performers, and Deaf stories, in front of the camera and behind it.

Community

Gatherings, festivals, and live rooms where signing is the default, not the exception.

Livelihood

Real businesses and real income for Deaf creators, so the culture can sustain itself.

Productions

Stories shown Deaf-first.

From live shopping to touring performance, our productions put Deaf voices at the center and invite everyone else in. Access is not a feature we advertise. It is the shape of the work.
